The 2026 performance in Central Park, NYC will certainly be a highlight of my year, made possible by Concora and pianist Simone Dinnerstein. We had an audience of near 2000 on a gorgeous, absolutely perfect weather day. The first concert of this summer’s series included Philip Glass played by the Baroklyn orchestra and Bach cantata selections. Hearing the birds trill their evening song and barely a rustle from the attentive audience felt like a true collaboration between music lovers. Time stops - and for that briefly shared experience in music, all is right with the world.

Recharging!

Take time for renewal! This spring there is time to reflect on the last few years and reset my priorities to reflect my values. Singing and teaching take a front seat but I also believe in real food, real friends and mindfulness over how we treat the nature we find ourselves in. Don’t forget to be grateful and take the time to care for yourself as well as others.

In February, I was given the honor and opportunity to help care for my mother in her final days. Her children had spent many anxious months concerned about her health, wellbeing and dignity as a person. We felt she deserved the best kind of compassionate care from skilled professionals. She did not ever wish to be a burden on anyone so it was a difficult challenge to help her in those last years struggling with dementia. As a family were we lucky that despite so many changes, the essential core of herself remained there - a Mom wanting to do things in her own way and leave on her own terms.
